Questions for reflection on 1 Kings 2-3
  1. God says to Solomon, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you" (1Kings 3:5). What would you ask for? What does Solomon's answer say about his character?
  2. Reflect on why we sometimes assume it is necessary to be ruthless when it comes to being "in charge". Is is necessary to be ruthless in business? How does that sit with our vocation as Jesus' disciples?
  3. How does obedience to the words of scripture have an effect on the success of out life? How do we understand times when we seem to be being obedient, but life seems to be a series of disasters?
