Questions for reflection on John 1:29-42:
- Why was Jesus called Lamb of God by John (1:29; 1:36)? Aren’t there more dignified animals to be called (e.g. Lion of Judah)?
- Consider Andrew’s action (1:40-42). What caused him to seek out his brother? How might the Christian story have been different if he hadn’t called his brother?
- John and Andrew both point others to Jesus. They believed that Jesus was someone worth making a fuss about. Consider how you might point others to Jesus. Contemplate the feelings that arise in you when you consider this.
